𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆 2024

International Youth Day is celebrated every 12th of August with a view to appreciating the position, the contribution and needs of youths and in turn empowering them. It is an annual celebration where the challenges and the opportunities found by youths globally are discussed in order to encourage the support for processes that will enable their development. The theme for the 2024 International Youth Day is "From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development.”

This age of the digital has fostered a new generation of cooperative developments where youths have outperformed the expected by using the digital means to associate, innovate, and handle difficulties en masse to catalyze the right changes. By creating online forums, and developing virtual centres, we have established that youth can build capacity and work together to create solutions. Through articulation of these ideas and submission of these resolutions on the social sites, young persons are not only transforming their own societies but are also creating the framework of a better world for the future. This has brought emphasis to the significance of interactional change in making real progress as informed by the digital age.

The theme for International Youth Day 2024, which falls on August 12th, is "From Clicks to Progress: They, therefore, named it as “ Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development. ” That is, this theme underscores the inseparable link between digitalization and the fast track in attaining the sustainable development objectives or commonly known as Sustainable Development Goals .

Nevertheless, one of the oldest challenges of the digital divide is to describe young people as “digital natives” who are using new technologies actively. They are the biggest population of users, and creators of the trends in the digital world on the international level. With the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set to end in 2030, youth continue to be a strategic group in realizing the suggested technological changes for development.

International Youth Day 2024 puts forward its effective reminder of great promise that digital avenues hold for development process and for the commitment to Sustainability and Youth’s further support through various approaches in digital means. In this way, social collaboration demands ordinary activities on the internet to foster clear changes, constructing a world where technology focused on youth shapes transformation.
