Student leaders from NVC joined Leadership Enhancement Training held at Aklan Training Center, Old Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan on September 28, 2024. Alongside NVCians, are students from Garcia College of Technology (GCT), Aklan Polytechnic College (APC), Aklan Catholic College (ACC), Lezo Technical College (LTC), and Malay College.
This event, which is led by Governor Jose Enrique “Joen” Miraflores, together with AkOne, and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), aims to enhance the students’ leadership ability, and personal growth, preparing them for greater responsibilities in their own respective schools, and in our community.
The morning session began with a lecture about Mental Health Awareness and is tackled by TA T. Dionela, RPm where he emphasized the differences between stress, depression, and anxiety. Dionela also highlighted the strategies in balancing academic pressures with personal care, a topic that truly resonated within the participants.
Followed by Mr. Paul Rober Saladar, who focuses on Parliamentary Procedures. Saladar talked about the significance of meeting protocol and the rules of order, which are very essential for conducting an organized meeting— which is a very vital skills for leaders.
After this, a special message from Governor Jose Enrique “Joen” Miraflores, inspired students to continue serves as a role model to the youths.
In the afternoon, Mr. Royden Perlas presented a session about Personality Development in which he interactively talk and really encouraged everyone to reflect on how they lead and how to improve their personal effectiveness in a team.
The training ended with the giving of certificates to the six participating schools. A photo opportunity followed marking the end of the event.
All of the students who participated in the event will be given educational cash assistance.
