Last Tuesday afternoon, October 8, 2024, the running candidates for the government local positions in the Municipality of Kalibo held a press conference after filing their Certificate of Candidacy (COC).

"Sa mga aspirants ay ruyon ro mga atong babantayan ang mga andang mga pangako kung ano man ang kanilang vision para sa atong banwa, kabay pa na uwa gid nga mga matatabo na towards incidents sa elections ngara." A statement from Mr. Johnny Dayang, former OIC in the municipality of Kalibo and currently the Chairman Emeritus, PAPI.
According to the current Kalibo mayor, Juris Bautista Sucro, he said that he wants to continue what he had started during his term. He added that they are running not to declare a feud between the two party lists but to prove to the people of Kalibo that they can serve them, which is their main agenda.
Some SB candidates want to do their job by using their own professions. They also want to help in the beautification of the municipality especially helping the people who are in need of psychological wellness, by proposing to the Department of Health in building and managing a psychiatric clinic that would benefit a lot of youth nowadays.
Furthermore, they also want to implement a project for the elderly people in their own municipality, a community hospital or medical facilities that are going to be accessible in the area.
An additional thing is that they want to be the voice of the people in their community especially for women and the youth.
To sum it up, the last day of the press conference in Kalibo is a sign that they are willing to be one with the municipality for 2025 elections and throughout the succeeding years in Kalibo. Together serving them and listening to their suggestions in building a successful municipality.
